A January Wrap-Up

I just really can't believe that this is only my 3rd post for the month of January.
This may be the most wild and crazy January I have ever had.
I really don't know where it went.
Well...when I look back at my pictures, it gives me some clues.

I decided to do a January Wrap-Up post...
I had so much to share...
recipes,
sewing,
organizational projects...
But just never found the time.

I'm hoping I do better in February.
We shall see.
January 1st started out with a Cousins Day at Sky Zone...an indoor trampoline/arcade/laser tag/pizza/pop type place.  My Auntie Lynnie got this for all the kids for Christmas and so we all met up there on New Years Day.  A crazy good time.
Spent some time organizing with some new gel pens and mechanical pencils...a new planner...and a new organizational calendar that I am still getting the hang of.
We celebrated my little dudes 9th Birthday.
 He requested his favorite...Popcorn Cake.
He and his buddies enjoyed a Friday night at Grand Slam...an indoor laser tag/mini golf/bumper cars/arcade/batting cages/pizza/pop type place.
I got Lasik...and now I get to cut onions with goggles on.  It's really fun when my kids have their friends over and I'm making dinner and they're like, "look at my mom!".  Thanks guys.  I appreciate the support.
I can't believe how my contacts were like an onion shield!  Who knew?
 I made homemade veggie broth.
My girls got crazy with a friend (Carly).  I can't tell you how many pictures I have of me and my bestie doing this when we were youngsters.  Major flashback moment.  Did I just say "youngsters"?
I made about 15 wool (and denim) skirts.
I enjoyed some afternoon coffees while working in my happy mess.
I made lots of flower pins with my wool scraps.
 Chocolate Chip Pancakes...oh my goodness.
I set up and priced my stuff while getting ready for a Craft Boutique.
Sweetie traveled a lot in January...the kids and I enjoyed movie nights with Chocolate Chip Cookies and Buttered Popcorn.
Packed up and ready to go!  Poppy picked Lulu and I up for the Craft Boutique/Swim Meet at 6:50am.
Lulu swam like a Champ...literally...she got 2 Champ Times at this meet and that girl is going to swim at State!  (here with her swim bud Ellie)
Our post-swim-meet ritual...a date at Noodles.
Buttermilk Pancakes and Strawberries...oh my how I love pancakes.
And lastly...as in, last night...I made some new curtains for the entrance to my Sewing Studio.
I gathered up tons of fabric and trim from my stash and made up some beauties.
They deserve a post of their own.  So...I will share those next week.

In January...we also:
attended wresting practices and meets
lots of swim practices
soccer started with practices and games
lots of sleepovers
Les Miserables...
book club
field trips
ladies night out down town
small group (2)
celebrated my dad and brothers b-days
dog sat
had friends over for dinner
nature center
sledding party at church
hosted Rook Club (cards)
piano lessons
dentist appts for the kids and me
lots of post-op eye dr appts

OK...now I feel better about not finding the time to post on my blog.
May February be more calm and peaceful...one can dream.

I'm hoping to be back tomorrow with a fun organizational project that I have planned for the year.
See you in February!!!

Love!  Tiffany

Sewin' up a storm!

Hi...I still can't upload photos from my desktop.
Check out my...
"TiffanyLayneFashion" Facebook page to see what I've been working on!
I am preparing for a Craft Boutique this weekend.
Made 15 new skirts.
Made 21 new flower pins.
Hoping to make some new wristlets tomorrow on my Sewing Wednesday!

Wish I could load some photos.

Do your kids ever play the "What if" game?
Oh goodness...I'm wondering when that game will ever end.
Maybe I shouldn't wish it away.
We really don't play that game as adults.
Maybe we should.
Tonight, Daisy Cakes asked me...
"'What if' our last name was Mickentosh????".
There's really no good answer to a question like that.
All I could think of was apples.
Sweetie and I usually get frustrated with the "what if" game...
mostly b/c it's gone on for so long now
and the questions that they pose have no good answer.
Adults like to see things in black and white.
The kids want to wonder.
I think I'll start to embrace it.
Come up with a really cool answer to their "what if".
Maybe I'll smile and giggle at their "what if's".
Maybe Sweetie will too.
Ooh, I think I'll start a "what if" journal!
Someone can write a "what if" and we can all come up with fun answers.

The kitchen is clean.
I'm off to pick up Lulu from swim team.

We're having Chocolate Chip Pancakes for breakfast.

Have a wonderful Wednesday tomorrow!!!

Love!  Tiffany

Sewing Wednesday...skirts!

Long time no see!
I tried to blog last week...but I couldn't upload a photo from my desktop.
So, I gave up.
After another week...I thought, maybe I'll blog again.
Still can't load a photo from my desktop.
And, of course, the Geek Squad (Sweetie) is out of town.

So...I think I'll post a couple of pictures on my TiffanyLayneFashion Facebook page.

Does anybody else feel like they got thrown to the ground this New Years?
I feel like I'm still laying down there...getting kicked.
This year did not start out like 2012.
2012 started out calm and organized...just how I like it.
2013 started out wild and crazy...not how I like it.
It will be interested to see what this year holds!

I had signed up for a Craft Fair on January 26th...as the year started out so crazy, I thought, I have got to get out of this craft fair...I can't find any time to sew!
So...I cancelled out of the craft fair.
Then...I found some free time last Saturday and I started sewing.
I designed this cute little wool skirt.
(I would insert photo here if I could)
I thought..."I have so much wool in my fabric stash...I could totally make up a bunch of these for the craft fair!".
I tentatively re-entered the craft fair.
Now, I'm back to...what in the world, I can't do the craft fair!
I think...I need to let it go.
I can make up a few things and list them on Etsy.

Hmmmmm...I don't know what this year will hold.
You know I listed out all kinds of goals and ideas!
That is my favorite part of New Years.
But, something is telling me to take this year one day at a time.
Love my Sweetie...
Hang out with my 3 babies...
Sew when I can...
A little project here and there (oh the list is long!)...
We'll see.

I hope you are all enjoying the New Year.

Love!  Tiffany
